Tell the FDA to Label GE Food   2 comments

Fish MarketGenetically engineered food has been a hot topic this month, and it’s about to get a little bit hotter. The FDA is pending approval for genetically engineered salmon, also known as frankenfish, which would be the first GE meat to gain entree into our supermarkets. The long term effects of this seafood is unknown at this time, and many are leery of its consumption. If approval is granted, there is currently no regulation in place forcing GE salmon farmers to label there products as such.

Regardless if you trust GE salmon or not, we can all agree that consumers have a right to know what they’re consuming. Currently, change.org is gathering petition signatures in hopes that the FDA will pass appropriate labeling requirements. Click here to learn more about this petition.

  1. This is crazy. Regardless if they allow the salmon thing to pass or not, people have a right to know what they’re actually eating!

  2. This should be a no-brainer. It’s bad enough that they may approve this stuff for market, but they don’t even want to label it? WTF
