PCBs Make for Smaller People   Leave a comment

A new study reports that boys who are exposed to environmental pollutants are smaller than their peers.

The three year study in Russia showed that boys with high levels of PCBs in their blood were “nearly three centimeters shorter than boys from the same region with the lowest amount of PCBs in their bodies.” So, along with cancer and type 2 diabetes, this is yet another problem caused by PCBs.

To be fair, the report notes that “the highest levels of PCBs and dioxins in the boys’ blood far exceeded those found in the average US population.” Still, there can be no doubt that exposure to PCBs (which unfortunately, are everywhere) is a health risk.
