PCB Awareness in the Philippines   1 comment

Environmentalists in the Philippines are vowing to monitor the recycling and disposal of toxic PCBs. Over 50 civil service groups have banned together to form the “Bantay PCBs” and promote the environmentally safe management of PCBs. The group draws its inspiration from the PCBs Elimination Network which is supported by the United Nations. Research by the PCBs Elimination Network has shown links to PCB exposure and damage to the immune system, liver, skin, reproductive system, gastrointestinal tract and thyroid gland. It’s always nice to remind ourselves that we are not alone in the fight to reduce PCB contamination and that people around the globe are uniting to clean up and control these dangerous chemicals.
