Should we spend more money to test for PCBs in schools?   Leave a comment

This question is being asked at Fairfield Ludlowe high school where the Towns Facilities Commission is asking for another $200,000 for more testing and design for new windows for the school. Previous testing at this school showed a presence of PCBs, a  very toxic substance. The additional testing would be used to further define which windows have PCB caulking and determine the extent of PCB infiltration into the masonry backup materials.

The answer to me is yes to the above question. it may seem like a lot of money now but it will save them much more in the future and possibly lives.
